Summary:

Onsite development and support at Fort Monmouth NJ for the U.S. Army’s it-emart , an e-commerce and administration portal for the Army’s Computer, Hardware, Enterprise Software and Solutions (CHESS)  program  (https://chess.army.mil).  It-mart is a JEE  website utilizing the atg (Art Technology Group) frame work  running on JBoss application servers, IIS web servers,  and using an Oracle 10g database. 

 

Responsibilities included but not limited to:

 

·               Development to enhance existing functionality and add new functionality.

·               Completed several projects that added new functionality to Army CHESS it-emart using Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology and best practices.

·               Prepare supporting documentation to include Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for user/administrative manuals for it e-mart and/or any other CHESS system to include all system/network administration, office automation, information assurance, and e-commerce functions.

·               Built custom tools to validate catalog data.

·               Provide technical support to CHESS Product Leaders, vendors and customers when required.

·               Ensure optimal web usability for it e-mart to present information to the user in a clear and concise way.

·               Maintain currency with developing web trends, website security issues, DoD and Army information assurance for accreditation and certification requirements, etc. and implement new solutions as required.

·               Manage the development environment utilizing DoD best practices.

·               Provide informal user training to customers, CHESS staff, and vendors regarding CHESS systems.

·               Provide 24/7 on-call support to maintain CHESS system uptime should any issue or Government exercise require CHESS system support during non-Government work hours.

·               Ensure all technical activities performed by the contractor have an audit trail and can be tracked or referred to if necessary.
